When it comes to working, I am like a man that goes to the war front with the mindset of winning the war. If I don’t face my work squarely, it is the same people that are commending me that would condemn me and I don’t want that. I want to be an evergreen actor. Look at the likes of Oga Bello and Prince Jide Kosoko, they started in 1964 and they are still relevant today. At the time they started, I was just a year old.”But despite his high handedness on set, Antar Laniyan has a softer side to him but that you can see when he is at home with his family. He said his wife is his number one critic when he does not play a romantic role realistically.“My wife knows who I am to the extent that if I do not romance a woman properly in a play, she would ask me why I did not kiss her well. Buhari give reasons why they run slow goverment

President Muhammadu Buhari has explained why his government is still ‘slow’ after almost three years in power.

Buhari said his team met a ‘weighty responsibility’ on ground and needed to take time to study the situation before setting out to implement its plans for the country’s recovery.

The president made this statement on Wednesday when governors, political leaders and other stakeholders from the North-Central geo-political zone came to ask him (Buhari) to consider re-presenting himself for the 2019 presidential election.

In his remarks, President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, assured that the economy was set to be on a better pedestal.

Buhari said, “When you elected us into office, you did so with the conviction that our dear nation needed to be put on a new pedestal for the dreams conceived by our founding fathers, dreams that we have adopted to be realized.

“The full weight of this responsibility informed our careful, slow and steady start to the governance of Nigeria in the last 30 months. We took a deliberate decision to take a closer look at the situation we found before setting out to implement our plans for the country’s recovery.

“We are convinced of the need to establish a firm foundation upon which a united, peaceful and prosperous nation can be built for succeeding generations of Nigerians. I remain very grateful to all Nigerians for their patience and understanding as we go through the difficult steps necessary to achieve this objective.

“We are aware that the journey has been difficult in the last two and half years, but we have managed to stop the downward spiral and can confidently assert that the worst is over.

“Nigeria is back on the path to growth, having eased out of recession. We shall continue to vigorously pursue the task of diversifying the nation’s economy to remove our over-reliance on oil, while making the land set for all enterprising Nigerians to survive and thrive.

“Toward this end, we shall continue to count on the unflinching support and understanding in every area, especially those of you who trooped out to convince fellow countrymen and women of our sincere commitment to the cause of Nigeria.”

the star Jamaican actor and dance-hall star Ninja Man convicted of murder, faces life imprisonment

Ninja Man, 51, is the latest Jamaican celebrity to be convicted of murder after Vybz Kartel who was sentenced to life in prison in 2014.
On Monday, the Home Circuit Court in Kingston convicted the actor who is also a dancehall singer and two co-accused for murder after they were found guilty of the 2009 murder of Ricardo Johnson, also known as Ricky Trooper.
A seven-member jury comprising four men and three women handed down the verdict in Home Circuit Court in Kingston after three hours and 11 minutes of deliberation.
"A suh it go man," Ninja Man said as he and his co-accused were led away in handcuffs.
As he boarded a police vehicle to be taken to prison, he would make another utterance.
"Don't worry yuhself, Jamaica, I'll be back," Ninja Man said.
Ninja Man, whose real name is Desmond Ballentyne was found guilty of murder and shooting with intent, while his son, Janiel Ballentyne and Dennis Clayton, were convicted of murder after the jury heard testimony from the main witness whom the prosecution named only as “Witness A”.
They were on trial for five weeks for the 2009 murder of Johnson which happened on the 16th of March at the Lower Mall Road community of Kingston.
According to reports, the case started in 2009 and had a total of 17 missed trial dates and 23 mentioned dates.
Ninjaman, his son and Dennis Clayton will be sentenced on December 15. They face the possibility of life in prison.
